Montreal Spring & Janette
Spring is blooming here, the leaves are unfurling, and I just can’t wait for summer and vacation time! I have a feeling it’s going to be a scorching Montreal summer – I’ll definitely be grateful for that kiddie pool in my backyard 😉
On another note, I ventured to the theater in April and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I truly miss attending theatrical productions – it’s an art form that brings me immense joy. I saw “Janette,” a biographical piece about Janette Bertrand, a celebrated Quebec woman who profoundly influenced our society through media in the late 20th century.
She recently celebrated her 100th birthday, sparking a wave of celebrations throughout our artistic community honoring her life and contributions. I’m discovering a woman who has maintained her curiosity throughout aging, remaining incredibly relevant in discussions on gender identity, equality, and diversity. J’espère vieillir comme elle – sharp-minded and witty, continuing to engage with the world around me.

Don’t be ashamed to weep; ’tis right to grieve. Tears are only water, and flowers, trees, and fruit cannot grow without water. But there must be sunlight also. A wounded heart will heal in time, and when it does, the memory and love of our lost ones is sealed inside to comfort us.
