Welcome to another edition of Links I’d share in private, a (bi-)weekly blog post about all the things and content I come across the Internet during my intense web binging, worthy of being shared to you all (instead of in all of my private group chats 🤣).
That one was hard to finish!
Damnnnnnnnnnn! I guess the winter blues is catching with me, because damn did I had NO motivation whatsoever to finish this blog post! A general feeling of “WTF am I doing? Who the fuck is reading this anyway” caught me for the last week, and I just felt…bleh. I guess I needed a little break from the pressure of writing, me think.
Otherwise, I started going out a little again. February is always a better month for my social life than January, and I always try to see my friends during that period, so to not catch cabin fever. Tavern Tour was last week-end, and I wished I caught more shows, but I also enjoyed a night out at the Moishes restaurant. I didn’t go to their new location in the Old Montreal district, and I really enjoyed my supper. You could taste the grills on the burger! It was THAT good! I need to go back and try other meals on their fancy menu.
Now on with the Links I’d share in private part!

TO READ
- Starting the reading list with this interesting article, “Who goes nazi?“, an interesting mind game to do in gatherings. The article may be from 1941, but it sure can be applied to today’s folks!
- How I became ‘collapse aware’: A take on how we may be at the end of a stable era, and how to focus on the here and there, the actions that can just help us cope through it all. “To be collapse aware is to live with the sense that something about the way we live is coming to an end. And then to ask the next obvious question head on: If the incrementalist approach of our existing political and economic structures is not up to the task of improving things – climate, society, inequality, injustice – what comes next?”
- Let’s Talk About Bias
- Stay Gold, America: Jeff Atwood writes on the escalating costs of housing, healthcare, and education, as well as declining voter participation and increasing wealth concentration, expressing concern that these trends threaten the American Dream, and share how he’s going to spend his fortune helping others in his community
- Looking for new places to travel in the world? This 52 Places to Go in 2025 photo article gives interesting suggestions of places to visit
- The Anti-Social Century: Interesting article that discusses how modern society is becoming increasingly anti-social due to technology and convenience culture, with people preferring solitude despite tons of research showing we’re happier when connecting with others. The rise of AI companions and decline of public social spaces may worsen this trend, though there’s hope in intentionally choosing technologies and creating environments that foster real human connection.
- What kind of revolution do you want? : Following the assassination of the UnitedHealthcare CEO, society is split between those celebrating the violence as justified revenge against corporate oppression and those condemning it outright. Not sure that I share the author’s point of view, but they argue it reflects a broader societal choice between violent and nonviolent revolution, advocating for active participation in nonviolent change while warning that continued suppression of peaceful movements may lead to more violence.
- The life and death of the Canadian small town: Small towns across Canada are dying as neoliberal capitalism systematically eliminates essential services and jobs, making these communities more and more unsustainable. The author argues that saving small towns requires deliberately resisting capitalist logic and returning to intentional industrial planning, as these communities cannot survive in a system that prioritizes economies of scale and corporate profits above all else.
