I love M.I.A. I really do! Yet, when I first heard ‘Born Free’, her new simple…I wasn’t amazed. But seeing the videoclip made me realized how amazing the song – and the artist – is.

Just a little mention:
I don’t really see this video as an Anti-Americanism piece. I see it as a call to action against all type of genocide and violence in the world. Replace the US troops as Nazis or Turks, and the ginger heads as Jews or Armenians, and you have a perfect allegory of genocide. She states her opinion on the subject, and shows us – graphically – how ugly hate for a specific ethnic population can turn out.
